Established in 1985, Datec is owned by Steamships Trading Company Ltd. The Steamships group has been operating in PNG since 1919 and has interests in business verticals as diverse as Shipping, Transportation, Hospitality, Property Development and Manufacturing. The group is in turn owned by the SWIRE Group, UK (London Stock Exchange: SWRA).
