Specifically, students are expected to successfully participate in lectures, laboratories and projects using a portable computer (Laptop/Notebook/Desktop) with a substantial hardware configuration. Its minimal suitable configuration is 8GB of RAM (16GB is recommended); a modern 64-bit x86 multi-core processor (Intel i5 or superior); 250+ GB of available space in hard disk; WiFi card; and a recent version of Ubuntu, macOS, or Windows. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure their laptop is functioning correctly and that they have full administrator rights to the machine. DLC cannot provide support to personal devices.

This program is designed to prepare students with the skills to begin an entry to intermediary level career in cyber security. Student will gain knowledge of technical skills to design, implement and secure computers, networks and communication systems and organization physical & Logical security.
Students with this special purpose award, will be able to install and configure security software, monitor networks and systems for security breaches, respond to cyber-attacks, and gather data and evidence to be used in prosecuting cyber-crime.
Students will gain an understanding of the full scope of cyber security operations within an organization. In addition to the technical skills covered, this program will introduce necessary soft skills such as: policy writing and development; positive relationship development between security functions and business functions; implementing effective awareness training programs; navigating the people side of incident response; and effective communication with executive leadership.
